Stories Grounded in Experience
David Wilson’s writing grows from a lifetime spent teaching martial arts, working with students and families, studying personal defense, and observing how people respond to challenge, responsibility, fear, growth and change.
His work moves between practical non-fiction, reflective martial-arts writing and character-driven fiction. Across each project runs a common thread: discipline matters, character is revealed through action, and meaningful growth rarely happens without effort.

Lessons Beyond the Dojo Floor
Teaching martial arts for decades provides an unusual window into people. Students arrive with different histories, fears, strengths and expectations, yet many of the challenges they face share the same underlying themes: confidence, discipline, consequence, responsibility and change.
Writing creates another way to explore those lessons — sometimes directly, sometimes through characters and stories — without reducing them to slogans or simple answers.
“The dojo has always been more than a place to learn technique. It is a place where people reveal themselves, rebuild themselves and often discover what matters most.”
What’s Coming Next
The Forgotten Space and The Dojo Story are currently in development. This page will grow as manuscripts are completed, covers are finalized and future publication details become available.
The same principle applies to writing as to martial arts: build the foundation carefully, refine it honestly, and keep going.
